CSOs New Agent Plan - First Policy Activated
_by Linda Morgan
CompSource Oklahoma activated its first policy under the newly implemented
agent plan, which was approved by CompSources Board of Managers,
effective January 1, 2002. Don Jacks, agent for Insurance Resources Insurance
Agency, holds the honor of writing the first policy for this history-making
event with his submission for an Oklahoma construction company.
Its great to work with people I have worked with before,
said Mr. Jacks, as he acknowledged the wide level of industry experience
of so many individuals now on CompSources staff.
Dan Ramsey, CEO of The Independent Insurance Agents of Oklahoma, has contributed
his organizations expertise by working closely with CompSource to provide
the needed guidance to ensure the success of CompSources plan with
Oklahoma agents.
Everyone has been so good to work with at CompSource. The professionalism
of this organization starts at the top and runs throughout. The educational
programs were so well done, Mr. Ramsey said, referring to seminars that
CompSource conducted to familiarize Oklahoma agents with its procedures for
writing coverage.
The Independent Insurance Agents of Oklahoma played host to CompSource, giving
them use of their facilities to present the series of seminars to the agents.
The seminars were held in both Oklahoma City and Tulsa in December.
Approximately 310 agents from across the state attended the seminars, which were
presented in a comprehensive format. CompSource employees from various
departments, including underwriting, claims, safety, premium audit, and special
investigations, were available to provide information and answer questions.
We are pleased that after a considerable amount of time, this has finally
come to fruition. Its long overdue and we look forward to developing a
relationship with Oklahoma independent agents and the successful progress of
all parties, said Terry McCullar, Commissioner and CEO for CompSource
Oklahoma.
Within the first three weeks of implementation of the agent commission plan,
CompSource wrote approximately $1.5 million in coverage.
