Fraud Unit receives
Governor’s Commendation
CompSource Oklahoma’s Special Investigations Unit was honored at
Quality Oklahoma Team Day 2001 ceremonies, May 10, at the
State Capitol. They received a Governor’s Commendation
for their "We’re serious about fighting fraud" program.
The awards brochure stated, "The Special Investigations Unit
teamed with policyholders and the Attorney General’s
Office to develop a more efficient process of detecting,
investigating, and prosecuting workers’ compensation
fraud. The process utilizes a variety of technological tools,
including computerized detection and a toll-free 24 hour
anonymous hotline. During the year 2000, they saved the state
$2.6 million."
CompSource Oklahoma’s display booth on the second floor rotunda, complete
with actual case videos and photos, was manned by SIU Investigators.
