Oklahoma City, OK - March 1, 2001 will mark the beginning of
new leadership at the Oklahoma State Insurance Fund when the
current Deputy Commissioner and Chief Operating Officer, Terry
McCullar takes over as the Funds new Commissioner and
Chief Executive Officer. He will be replacing current
Commissioner, Terry Tyree, who announced his retirement last
month at the Funds Board of Managers meeting.
Currently, the Fund is the largest workers compensation
insurance carrier in the state, writing approximately 30 percent
of all workers compensation coverage in Oklahoma. More
than 50 percent of the Funds approximate 20,000 policyholders
are small businesses that depend on the Fund to provide them
workers compensation at reasonable rates.
McCullar began his career with the Fund in July 1994 as Director
of Internal Audit and Special Investigations. He was later
appointed Deputy Commissioner and Chief Operating Officer of
the Fund in September 1997.
Terry McCullar is a certified public accountant and spent 12
years in public accounting with the firms KPMG, LLP and Finley and
Cook before his career with the Fund. He is currently a

has had past affiliations in various capacities with the Oklahoma
Society of Public Accountants, the Association of Certified Fraud
Examiners, and the Institute of Internal Auditors.
McCullar has worked hard with Tyree and the Funds board of
managers to improve its services to the Funds policyholders.
"I am looking forward to the new challenges and hope to continue
the success that the Fund has experienced over the last several
years," McCullar said. "I look forward to leading the Fund into
a new era of public awareness and accomplishment."
McCullar currently resides in Tecumseh with his wife, Alicia who
