CSO Wins 2003 Governors Commendation
Kudos again to CompSource Oklahoma for winning the Governors Commendation at Quality
Oklahoma Team Day 2003. CompSource won for its submission of our in-house medical bill
repricing plan entitled The Life of A Medical Bill. The Team Day event held May 8, 2003,
recognized Oklahoma state agencies that have done an extraordinary job cutting cost
and/or generating income.
The event, held at the Capitol, featured participants booth exhibits throughout the
Capitol rotunda. CompSources booth emphasized "Our Team Works Hard for Your Team."
The Team Day event concluded with an awards presentation for agency winners. Joe Kreuer,
Insurance Program Administrator for Claims Group 9, accepted the award on behalf of his
team members whose dedication and hard work have made the bill repricing plan a success.
CSO winning team members include Laurie Brill, Tabatha DeLeon, Nadine Manning, Carl McGlocklin,
Shirley Bridges, Tonya Clipper, Sheri Hawkins, Paula Little, and Peggy Musick. The success
of this project also earned each team member a CSO lapel pin from Terry McCullar.
The projects full title was “The Life Of A Medical Bill - CompSource Oklahomas Bill
Repricing Plan Saves Time, Dollars and Improves Customer Relations From Every Facet.”
The in-house plan was developed to reprice medical bills to providers, which streamlines
the entire billing process, reduces costs and improves operating efficiencies. Additionally,
CompSource was able to maintain a gross percentage of savings on bill repricing of approximately
44% and reduce the turnaround time for repricing a bill by as much as 50%. Reducing the
turnaround time results in medical providers being paid quicker and workers compensation
claims getting processed faster. In addition to satisfied medical providers, this in-house
bill repricing plan provides quicker, more efficient service to CompSources policyholders and
Oklahomas injured claimants.
